1 Scope
1.1 These requirements cover angle-pattern and straightway-pattern hose valves intended for use on standpipes, fire pumps, and hydrants supplying water for fire protection service.
1.2 Requirements for the installation of hose valves include the Standards of the National Fire Protection Association for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, NFPA 13; for for Standpipe and Hose Systems, NFPA 14; for Installation of Stationary Fire Pumps for Fire Protection, NFPA 20; and for Installation of Private Fire Service Mains and Their Appurtenances, NFPA 24.

This new Eleventh Edition of ANSI/CAN/UL 668 dated March 19, 2025, moves the necessary requirements from the existing ULC/ORD 668 to UL 668, resulting in a new joint Standard reflecting the latest ANSI and SCC approval dates and incorporating the proposal dated September 13, 2024 and January 3, 2025.
